April 2013: Photos from the subway in New York and Beijing. NY is less crowded and less high-tech, save one little boy playing his game.
January 2013: The RCCPB held the seventh and final Chinese Industry-American Government Roundtable at the Kempinski Hotel in Beijing. A great time was had by all, including the RCCPB staff.
Late 2012/Early 2013: Recent photos of the skylines of New York, Beijing, Shanghai, and Seattle. Although every day is different, I’d be willing to be bet that these photos reflect genuine long-term differences in air quality.
December 2012: Christmas time in my hometown. In case you didn’t know, I’m a native of Washington, DC.
July 2012: My family and I visited Tiger Leaping Gorge in Yunnan, northwest of the historic town Lijiang. Just amazing!
June 2012: A visit to the 798 contemporary art district in Beijing. Always something new to see.
May 2012: My own 'southern tour' to understand Chinese policy trends and elite politics took me to Guangzhou (and Sun Yat-sen University) and Hong Kong.
August 2011: Visiting the Baiyun Ebo Mine, 200 km north of Baotou, Inner Mongolia. Some darn big trucks, powered by Cummins engines, a company headquartered down the road from IU in Columbus, Indiana.
